My client has 2 sony Vcrs, and when she uses the remote both VCR works. She only wants one VCR to work witht he remote.

I had tried to put stuff infront of the IR windows and nothing. What materials can i put that it will prevent from receiveing the signal.

Home section of most dept stores like Walmart. It's usually black.

You could also open the unit and cut the wires running to the IR receiver.

Anywhere that carries any kind of hardware.

I would imagine that heavy paper would work just as well (think black construction paper).

Hey, doesn't most Sony equipment like VCRs and DVD players have the ability to choose from among two or three IR controls? I know my DVD players and DirecTV recievers do. My old VCRs do too.

yes it does, but the problem is the neweer VCR controls all 3 selections.

I have put duct tape from within the VCR and although the range has decrease to about 1/2 feet, i need it to be 100% gone.

I use a much simpler solution, just put your hand up as a shield for which ever VCR you don't want to control.
