How do I disable... Start->Program-> Expanding folder crap

I have similar machines setup and some of the machines will have all the program listed and you dont have to click on that down arrow for all the programs to expand.. how the heck do you disable that.. i try the tool bar properties and it won't stick...
 
try settings | taskbar and start menu

look for the expansion of drives or folders. i'd give you exact info but i'm on a comp with win98se. i'll confirm later.

 
I did that, i try checking all the options, unchecking them, and this is under administrator account.. is there a ini or regedit hack I can do ?
 
You've probably already done this, but did you uncheck the 'Use Personalised Menus' box in taskbar and start menu properties, and restart?
