How do I disable real time protection permanently? - Windows 10

Any idea how I can turn this off permanently? Every time I turn it off it turns itself back on after restarting.

What I did when I had Win 10 installed is disable it through Group Policy Editor. If you don't have the PRO or Enterprise version then I don't know what to say, Windows 10 is not controlled by the user, Microsoft controls it, its updates, and its security.

Open the Group Policy Editor.

On the left navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender

On the right look for Turn Off Windows Defender, right-click on it and choose Edit.

Toggle the selector to Enabled then click Apply and OK.

Exit the Group Policy Editor.

Worked! Thanks so much.

Is this on the Home version? I have Pro, I disabled defender, and it stayed off, just like it did in 7, 8, and 8.1.
