how do i disable MSN messager to start up when my comp starts??

I'm at work right now but later today I can send you a small batch program that removes Messenger. PM me with your e-mail and I'll hook you up.

If this is Windows XP you can type "gpedit.msc" in the run dialog box without the quotes. The option is under Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Messenger. If you don't use windows messenger the use the batch that Dan is talking about. Here is a link talking about the batch. There is a link to download it as well.

Try and put this in Run... in Start menu...it should work.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

I've copied this off some website. Can't remember where sorry!

why with those editing?? Its on Tools -> Preferences
clear the check on "Run this program when windows start"
