I have folders containing several hundred MB of .tga images. The contents of these folders change often, and I don't want/need thumbnails of each image generated when I open the folder.
If I check "Do not cache thumbnails" in the folder options, XP wants to generate new thumbnails every time I open these folders, making the computer unresponsive for several seconds.
Unchecking "Do not cache thumbnails" in the folder options isn't much of an improvement. XP still insists on generating thumbnails for new images in each folder, and caching them in "thumbs.db" files.
Isn't there a way to completely DISABLE thumbnails?
I don't want them. I don't need them. XP insists on creating them - which means 100% cpu usage and and unresponsive computer every time I open a folder full of images...

Help! Thanks!
