How Do I Disable AVG

I don't want it in the task tray and I only want to run the program on an occassional basis when I "want to"...

How do I keep it from automatically loading?

If I recall correctly, the realtime protection is done via a Windows Service, so you would right-click My Computer > Manage, go down to the Services and disable the appropriate service there. Maybe. I could be wrong on that.

You can go to Run > services.msc & disable (or just set to manual) the background stuff, & remove any startup stuff in Run > msconfig.

I tend to do that with most every program i have unless i want it running at startup or in the background.
