How do I determine if I am in dual channel?

right now, I know I am not since I have 768 MB pc2700 RAM. But I am planning on buying a 2nd 256 MB stick soon. Motherboard is a biostar MCVND Pro.

what chipset is that board ?
i know that the nforce2 boards usually tell you it is running in dual channel mode during the post sequence
i dunno about the P4 boards

So it tells you during post? I never noticed, guess I'll have to pause next time.

If you have modules plugged into both channels, it'll be running dual-channel to the extent that it can. It turns out that both memory controllers can access both channels, crossbar-style.

get cpu-z it show the memory status under the memory tab
