How do I delete this folder?

Here's the situation:

I have 2 hard drives. One is stored with the main operating system and the other stores files and games. I set administrative rights to the 2nd drive. I had to reformat my main drive and now I can't delete files off the 2nd drive.

TIA

Create a username with the same password, and login.

Then move the stuff...unless you encrypted it in which case....well, you don't want to know.

i tried dos and it doesn't work...says access is denied

the thing about the username is that i forgot the username that i created the folder with.

Log in with Administrator rights, rightclick on the drive and select Properties, go to the Security tab, click Advanced, go to the Owner tab, and take ownership of the drive.

i'm not at home right now...but when i right click on the drive/folder, the security tab doesn't appear.

actually i haven't tried logging in as administrator but rather my username which has administrator rights. should that matter?

so you cant just use fdisk and delete the partition? (must be NTFS)

Maybe you can download one of those hardrive utilities from the hardrive manufacturer. and erase it from there.

Sounds to me like he wants to keep some of the stuff on the hard drive and not format the whole thing.

exactly...its just actually one folder that i want to delete because its taking too many GBs 😱

if there is no security tab, it is probably a FAT32 partition and not NTFS

you can view all the files? just not delete them?

did you try moving something to your C: drive ? sometimes moving a file is treated differently than deleteing
