How do i delete these files

i have some kind of spyware virus/trojan on my computer. norton identifies which files they are but i am unable to delete them in normal mode or safe mode. i get an access denied messagebox. how can i get rid of these things?

1) What's the exact virus name(s) that Norton is calling them?

2) What version of Norton do you have (2006, 2005, 2004, or whatever)

They might be stored in your system restore

I use it as necessary. If there is another way to delete a file that is in use by Windows, I am unaware of it.
