How do I delete "System Volume Information" folder?

After merging two partitions using PartitionMagic 8, it created a folder in the first partition in order to move the data that was in the second partition.

Well, the second partition was empty. Nevertheless the app created that folder, as the wizard wouldn't let continue otherwise.

Now I want to delete that folder, as it's (apparently) empty. Windows wont let me because there's a "System Volume Information" folder inside. Apparently, PM moved the sys vol info. dir from the old partition, and now I can't get rid of it.

How can I delete it? I tried booting into Safe Mode without luck.

Now I have two "System Volume Information" folders. The actual one used by Windows and the second one that belonged to the old partition. I already contacted Symantec support, but I wont get an answer till tuesday.

TIA

A good old 'partition havoc'.

The system volume information folder does not have administrative permissions by default. You'll need to take ownership of the folder and add yourself. You can then delete it. Do NOT do this with an active sytem volume information folder - you shouldn't mess with it.
