Hold the hard drive up to your forehead and say "ERASE!" 10 times in a row. Then go into DOS (Which stands for "Digital orientating software") and type format. Format realigns all the magnetic particles into a reconizeable format, hence the name format. Be sure to defrag it after you are done, cause centrifugal force spins the particles out to the edge and you can have a hard drive crash.

That simple.

Norton systemworks has an option to blank a HD, it will write 0's and 1's to the entire drive as many times as you want.

Get a DOS boot disk. Search Google for IBM's "zap" and "wipe" utilities. Zap wipes the MBR, while wipe wipes the first several gigabytes of the hard drive. That's the easiest way.

hehe it's ok, you should go to start menu, programs, accesories, then MS-DOS Promt, then of course "format c:".

That should help ya.

You can't format from a prompt within XP.

This is exactly why SCR should ask this question in another forum...

"They type of the file system is FAT32.
Enter current volume label for drive C:"

Do you know what I should put?

oh he got XP.. didnt see it....aight that won't work, but you can try this
find a windows 98 boot disk, boot the system from that disk, choose cd rom support, that will take you to DOS, then type format C and that should help you. follow the directions.

I worked in an audio tape dubbing center while in college. We had to wipe a lot of tapes before redubbing for students for language classes.

A couple of seconds with that magnet and all audio "data" was gone. That thing was schweeeeet.
