How do i delete my Harddrive?

My comp has been acting a fool, and Zonealarm got messed up, so now, within 10 minutes of reboot, it closes off my internet connections, and i can't do anything, i've deleted every file that relates do it and all that stuff. So I just need to know how to Reformat or Delete my harddrive, so i can reinstall windows, without sh*tty zonealarm messing me up, and not dl it when i get windows running.

For what os? format c: off of a boot disc will work usually.

That's where Autoclave comes in. It can perform simple zeroing. It can also overwrite the hard drive with specific patterns which exercise all the bits on the drive, making it extremely difficult to recover anything at all. Could the NSA recover anything from a drive which has been erased using this disk? I don't know. I personally doubt it. But if that's who you're worried about reading your data, it's probably best if you pound the drive into dust using a sledge hammer, and then fuse the pieces together with a blowtorch.

Its gives you an option to format I believe

If you have Windows XP, just pop that in and have your CD-rom as the first boot option. Then follow directions.

I'm using XP professional, what you mean by boot disk, sorry for the rather noobish question.

If you are sure your disk surface is error free, select the quick format if you use the winXP install cd. It'll cut your install time in half.

Then you don't need to, just pop in your XP disc and choose the "annihilate my partition" option. It will do it for you.

If you really want to get rid of everything on your HD, try dban. It'll wipe everything off your Harddrive.

reinstall zone alarm, then, instead of using <delete>, Use the uninstall utility!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are seriously concerned about any of these situations, then consider drilling open your hard disk, grinding down the platters, and melting all of the parts in a furnace.

i can delete the CONTENTS of the HardDrive for you, but in general i recommend NOT deleting the HARDDRIVE.

instructions to delete hard drive:

1. buy a goat
2. open computer and cover hard drive with honey
3. shoot hard drive with a rocket launcher
4. pet your new pet goat

Ok, i reinstalled windows and everything, did my drivers for mobo + my video card, but it seems windows hasn't checked out my card yet, and the internet is very slow, like a turtle on the Galapagos, anyone know what i can do?
