How do I delete backgrounds in xp?

hey folks, I've already deleted the default backgrounds in the windows/web folder and replaced them with a bunch of cool babe pics. Now I need to delete the generic tiled bitmap patterns on my system (bricks, bubbles, etc). Where are they and can I safely delete them?

They're in your Windows folder, just search for *.bmp and delete all the ones that look like background tiles.
