How do I create HTML mail with Outlook 2000?

Hang on! I know that you can just set your default message type to HMTL in the Options menu. What I mean is: How can I manually type in an HTML file into an Outlook message so that it displays to the receiver.

In Outlook Express, this was easy. There were these nice little tabs at the bottom of HTML messages where you could just flip over to the code and do whatever you wanted. But I can find no such tabs in Outlook 2k. When I read the Help files, that good old Office assistant merely points out ways to add HTML styles and so forth via the menus. But that is NOT what I'm looking for. I want to hand code the mail.

There has to be an easy way to do this. Surely I don't have to use some external editor or something. I mean, sheesh, I could do it with Outlook Express.

Anyone?

Thanks.

Looked around and can't find manual editing of html mail (view source doesn't save changes), except possibly if you use Word as your email editor...

however, you may want to keep in mind that the majority of email clients don't read html mail properly anyways, and many people prefer to get their mail in plaintext.

Ladi,

Thanks for trying, anyway. I also tried editing the Notepad source. Your experience seems to be the same as mine -- it doesn't save. There's gotta be an easier way to create HTML mail with Outlook. I mean, dern, it was a breeze with Outlook Express. Maybe I'll try editing in Word.

Sorry, absinthe; I should have read your query more closely before I jumped in with an answer.
