how do I create a partion using diskmgmt.msc on my SATA drive?

I'm just wondering how I would create a partition(s) using diskmgmt.msc in windows XP for my SATA drive? its currently at 250GB and I wanna break that down into smaller sizes. Thanks.

You don't. MS doesn't provide any software to resize partitions, if you want to resize them without losing data you'll need a 3rd party tool like Partition Magic or parted. And you really want to have a backup first because if anything goes wrong you'll lose everything on that partition. Supposedly Vista will provide something like that, but I doubt you want to wait for that.

Actually, you can use diskpart.exe to do some stuff. I've only used to to extend partitions onto unused disk space, but you can give it a try. It's already there, so it's free...
