I'm not sure, but ME may be able to create the boot.ini file for you while it installs. If that is the case (you will have to ask here), just install ME on a different paritition. Then when you boot your computer a little window will pop up that has the OS you can select.

If ME doesn't create the boot.ini file you will have to edit it yourself. BUt why dual boot ME and XP to begin with?

I can tell you for a fact that no, it wont set up a dual boot for you if you have XP installed, and try to install ME. ME will overwrite you MBR and erase the XP information. You need to make sure you install ME to a separate partion or drive than XP, and then do a repair on XP. The repair should rewrite the XP information to the MBR and set up the dual boot. The way MS recommends to do it is to install the OS' by their age (when they were released), assuming that the newer OS can recognize the older and set it up for you.
