I turn right too sharp and I keep hitting the curb/bush/etc. My dad kept making me turn right and then another right in a parking lot. I turn the first right ok and right when the steering comes back to me I have to turn again and I hit the curb with my back wheel. Help!

hmmm...keep an eye on your right hand mirror, or pull ahead a little bit more before your turn?

or just don't drive so close to the curb ;)

Every time you turn just conciously think that you're going to turn less than you think you should. In a week it will be natural.

maybe you just need to learn the boundaries of the car better? take it on some country road with lots of potholes, then try to maneuver a tire into a designated pothole and see if you get them all or miss some.

Uhh, I don't think there's much anyone's gonna be able to say to you other than "Give it some time". That's something you have to get a feel for - rather than be told how to.

You just need to keep trying. In time, you'll get it right. You need to calculate the distance from the crub to your car in your head, I don't think we can help you... maybe a bit.

UT have you ever rode a bicycle before? Cause it seems to me you dont have the basics. I was thinking about it. The only reason you keep hitting the curb are:
1. your going too fast for the incline of the curve.
2. your too close to the curb when starting the turn.

When making right turns, you make the turn, and aim for the long white dash(rest are small ones) on the road for the first lane closest to you. That is the right angle to turn. However slow down, because at higher speeds the wider the turn has to be. Also to remember that if you are in a big car (suv, crown vic) you have to leave room for the tail to clear before makign the next move.

Just last night you were complaining that your driving instructor was making you slow down too much on turns!! You better learn how to turn slowly before you start whipping turns at 30mph:p

UT if you live in So.Cal maybe I should show you how scared you will be driving like you do.
I will take to devils drop (ok that is what I call it) and scare the sh*t out of driving up a mountain at 45..

The highlights:
A slide turn
possible loss of control and make a full 360
lots of squeals froom tires
A hard braking turn
The Over Under steer
Fun with handbreaks

ROTFLMAO!!!! I use to race on BMX bikes and jump...aww..memories ;)

<< UT slow down when taking those turns.
The reason your making mistakes is because your going too fast.
>>

I am slow but I keep thinking I don't turn enough and afraid i'm going to drift to the left and thats why I turn too much.

<< And you want to buy a porsche 944 turbo S? GOD HELP US >>

Nope, insurance is going to be a real bitch. '93 Lexus SC400 is on the top of my list now.

Go to an empty parking lot with paper cups. Set up the cups like a street curb. Then try to take right turns with out crushing/knocking down the paper cups. You just need more practice.

Yea I need some cones are something. But I can park and paralel park and back up etc perfectly. Supid right turns. Oh yea, are left turns hard? Come to think about it, I haven't made a left turn at a stop light yet. I'm afraid i'll hit the median or the car beside me..:(

Oh yea, i'm driving a '88 Dodge Caravan....

its practise you need..but along with that you need a technique.
When taking left turns, the center line/divider should be in line with your shoulder. Turn left into your desired lane.
