what kind of output are you looking for from the code above. Yes, it is hex.

It's an MD5 hash, and yes, it is a password. It's a combination of upper and lower case letters, no numbers, no special symbols. It's 6 letters long That's all I'll say without more info.

EDIT: Example of the password: CoOkIe

However, know this: MD5 is usually used on passwords, or other information that needs to be encrypted for security (account numbers, passwords, etc). Sensitive info. But..he could have made the MD5 himself, in which case he's just playing a game as you say. If it seems fishy to you, I suggest you not give him the key.
