I want to connect to a service that is running on a machine on a remote network. I don't have administrative access to the remote network, but I do have administrative access to the remote computer. The problem is that I cannot forward a port on the remote network to the remote machine.

Any help in establishing this link?

gotomypc.com

Basically both ends are connected by a process engine on that site. Without some outbound (assuming outbound is not constrained) connection from the destination, you will not get through without port forwarding.

SO your source machine connects to gomypc.com, the destination machine conencts to gotomypc.com and the site connects you by matching up the account numbers & credentials.

There's a way of custom building VNC to connect outbound to you.

Link

I think the issue with the VNC approach is that the 'controlling' PC would need to be at a fixed IP or at least be accessible via DNS from the client.

For logmein, the free version, each client has to register and then you use their registered account to login to logmein and then to their pc.

I haven't tried gotomypc yet.
