I have an ATI mach64 video card that is integrated into my motherboard. Is it possible to connect my computer somehow to my TV to watch divx movies?

Your video card should have video out. If not, you could use a VGA->composite converter, but it would be cheaper to buy a DVD player.

A good question for the General Hardware forum (hint, hint)

(a) VGA-to-TV boxes exist for around $100 like Centaur6 says
(b) an ATI video card with TV-out starts at $40 ($44 for PCI) from Newegg. Look at cards by "Sapphire"

you need tv out on your graphics card. Then you need a Tv that can either have a composite in or s video. All newer tvs should have composite and a lot of s video. TV out usually uses s video but you can adapt this to composite. Look at your then you are probaly going to have to buy a video card w/tv out.

Bite the bullet and get a TV-out video card. Another consideration is - if your motherboard only has a Mach64 onboard:

1) will it let you disable the onboard?
2) what caliber of system are you running? You may not have the power to run a DivX/XVid movie, only DVD
3) why not just buy a DVD player for $50-75?

So then a stand alone DVD player wouldn't solve the original poster's problem.
