How do I connect a card reader to a motherboard?

Can I connect it via the F1_1394 connector? - I don't see any other connector that it will fit

What card reader and mobo? 1395 is a firewire connector/port. Chances are the card reader uses USB.

If we're talking an internal card reader, it most likely use either the 9-pin internal USB2 header, or the 19-pin USB3 header.

9-pin internal USB2 header:

If its an older mainboard its very likely you don't have an internal USB3 header.

OP see Skorpio's question . That's the info we would need to point you in the correct direction . Some card readers connect to a sata port , one or more usb ports and may require power from the motherboard with a molex or sata connector also .

There is a port to connect them , and don't mix up the USB3 header with the TPM header
