How do I compress files?

I need to put a 4.8 Mb file on a 1.44 Mb floppy disk. How can I do this? Thanks.

rar then zip it 🙂

but i don't think you can compress it that much to fit onto a floppy...try cutting it into separate files

i believe winrar lets you do that

use winzip (http://www.winzip.com/) or winace. It's all pretty selfexplainatory. If not, consult the help-file

And the degree of compression depends on the type of file you're compressing as well as the compressor.

with winzip you can span a few floppies with the zip file..
