How do I clear the run menu?

It is from MS has has all that stuff in there

I don't know if you can...

It's sort of like the search function, you can't really clear it...

I guess if something *bad* was to have gotten in there, you can always run other run commands until that specific command was wiped off the drop down...

Oh, you wanted to clear an entry. Well like Paulson said I don't think there is a way. Follow his suggestion if you only want to clear a &quot;bad&quot; entry. That's the only way I know of.

I know that in 98, ME, and 2000 you can right click on the task bar, select properties and select the advanced tab, you can click on the clear button and it erases your run menu and recent documents.

what jdavis71 said works - and its easy and quick. i thought it also deleted my documents file (aack), but it just deletes the desktop history listing, they are all still there.

You can also clear the run &quot;MRU&quot; from the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/RunMRU

Windows MRU's (for the most part) are kept in that area. Just erase the keys inside that menu, and it will erase your MRU (most recent used)
