How do i check to see if there is an infrared port on my Dell laptop?

I was wondering how I can check and see if there is an infrared port on my Latitude D600 Dell laptop.

should be a small piece of shiney black plastic some where.....same as u get on then end of your remotes.....or it mite be as part of an expansion card (forget what they are called PCMIA or something)
 
Yeah, that looks like it. Put your Dell Service Tag into their website and it should have drivers for it, unless they come with Windows
 
Also check from your laptop Bios that it is actually enabled. Often Dells come wth infrared disabled.

I checked in BIOS (F2=setup) and it is disabled, but when i change the disabled it gives me com1 com2 com3 and com4. How do i know which one my infrared port is?
 
i got my infrared port working now, but how do i transfer data out of it? do i need a special program or something?
