How do I check the USB version ?

Hi,

How can we figure out what version of USB is supported by this machine ?
(1.1 or 2.0 ?)

Where should we look ?

Thanks

Did you Read The Friendly Manual? Most have a "specifications" section. If it just says "USB" not "USB 2.0" you have 1.x.

If you don't have a manual:
(a) Motherboard manufacturer website or system manufacturer website if dell, compaq, etc.
(b) Google Knows All

edit: or (c) try telling us what you have, AT foks know (almost) all too, or at least we think we do 🙂

Thanks for the rapid reply !

Yes I did read the manual... saying just "USB" without version specifics.
(isn't it usualy annoying when they don't put a version number?)

I suppose (as you sugested) this definately means *not* 2.0.

.... and this is all I needed to know.

again, many thanks for your help.

P.S.
The Mobo is a 2002 Gigabyte 6VTX

If gadget is a USB 2.0 and also have a backward compatibility to USB 1.1.

And I have a mobo that support USB 2.0.

When I connect the gadget to my mobo, how can i check that the mobo is using USB 2.0 driver rather then USB 1.1?

Many thanks in advance.
