How do i check if my iBooks charged? ASAP.

Hi.
AFAIK, when the power adaptor on the iBook glows green, its charged. When its orange, its charging.
Atm, my ibook when on, the power adaptor glows green, and osx says its charged. But when i put it to sleep or switch it off, the power adaptor go`s orange again!
So is it charged or not?

everytime you use it a bit it needs a bit of charging

after you turn it off it will charge a bit then the light turns green again

Even though the power is still plugged in when i switch it on?
