How do i check if i have a firewall?

Many programs are saying i am behind a firewall.. but i dont know of any firewall i am behind.. i only got norton antivirus and that aint a firewall... is their anyway to check if i got a firewall?

Windows XP has a built in firewall. You can check that under network settings. How do you connect to the net?

What kind of DSL router/modem do you have? Some are just DSL modems while others have actual router/firewall functions built-in.

Also, like was said, you may have Windows XP firewall turned on. (or do you have anything installed like Norton Internet Security or Zonealarm?)

Nope i dont got zonealarm or norton security.. only norton antivirus.. oh wait i got the blaster worm firewall like when it frist came out but i never had a problem with it.. how would i check if i had the built in firewall on.. for windows xp

Right-click "My Network Places" and choose Properties. When that comes up, right-click your Network Connection and choose Properties. On the Advanced tab, you'll see whether the firewall is enabled or not.

nope its not enabled.. so now what..

Then either your DSL modem is acting as a firewall or your ISP is doing some sort of blocking.
