How do I check for faulty hardware?

I'm suspecting either one of my DIMMs are bad or my harddrive is faulty, because lately I've been getting hangs, blue screens of death, and exception violations. For example, about half the time when I start up Warcraft III, I'll get:

The instruction at '0x6F0396F0' referenced memory at '0x6062388C'. The memory could not be 'read'.

I never used to get these sort of errors, so what utility is out there where I can run comprehensive hardware diagnostics to pinpoint the problem?

You can use a shareware program called GoldMemory, found here to test all kinds of RAM. It uses freeDOS, all you need is a blank floppy. It's advisable to let it run for at least 3 loops.
