You know back in late high school, I registered as a Democrat... I don't know what I was thinking. (Reflection shows the brainwashing from high school teachers had a large effect.) It was what everyone picked here, California, so I just went along you know.

Now how do I go about chaning which party I'm registered with?

Do I have to pick a party? I'm not Republican. But I'm not Democrat.

I don't think Independent is right though because then I don't think I'm allowed to vote in either of their primaries I believe?

In order to prove you are not a democrat and join the Republican party you have to fire off three rounds of a .45 and hit a target 200 yards away. I am sure your states website has info for this.

You might consider the Libertarian party. I never really considered myself affiliated with either party, because I disagree with parts of both of them. My buddy just showed me this the other day, and they don't sound half bad (to me).

I think you can register as undecided or something like that and vote for either party, but you should only vote republican anyway.

Go to this page and fill out the form. Choose whatever party you like, or none at all. Submit the form, wait for them to mail the completed form to you, sign it, and mail it back to them.

You can register as an independent, but you're right, you wouldn't be able to vote in either of the major party's primaries.
