I installed Windows 7 and during the install it asked for a name and I chose Bob. I want to change the name. I went to Accounts in the Control Panel and changed it and the change took place when I click on the Start button, it shows the new name
The problem is it doesnt change the User name in the Windows Explorer.
When I click on the Windows Explorer then click on USERS it still shows Bob as the user in addition to the two other Users which are Public and Default.
When I right click on Bob, there are no options for Rename.
Any idea how I rename it ?

You can rename user accounts by adding Local Users and Groups to mmc, but (AFAIK) the users\username folder will remain the same unless you delete the folder (while logged in as someone else) and let windows recreate it.

1.) Create a new account with the name you want.
2.) Set it up the way you want.
3.) Delete Bob account.
4.) Done.

I recommend you set the user name to "user".
Everything snoops your username and I really don't want to have my username known by every single program I install, some like microsoft office go further and brand every single document you create with your username.

Sorry man, renaming doesn't work, you will have to either delete the profile as a different admin and then re-log to re-create it, or create a second admin and then just dump the other one. Go with PCGeek's suggestion, it is the fastest.
As for the applications knowing your name, I don't think it really matters, I don't suggest you use your actual name, but most software and the OS use evnironmental variables, so whatever you put it, it will associate with whatever %username% was logged in at the moment. Whether you use Bob, User, or IdontCare, it will just use that login name.
