I just built a computer for someone and now they don't want it. I installed the OS and made the computer name of that person. Now I have someone else that wants it and I want to put their name as the owner instead of the other persons. How can I make that change without totally reloading the OS.

Thanks

I believe this should answer your question:<a href="http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/32/">

In the registry

Windows 9x:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion]

Windows NT/2000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]

OK...Thanks for the fix ...it worked great. I do have another problem that I can't seem to fix. BTW, I'm using XP Pro. In the Documents and Settings area there is a folder with the old persons name on it that I cannot get rid of. It says for example "Leah's Documents". If I try to rename it , it says can't rename because" Leah is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. It cannot be removed or renamed". I would like to make that folder the name of the new owner. How can I change that name?

You should be able to login as administrator, delete the user account and then delete the folder under C:\Documents and Settings\leah.
