Anytime I want to downlaod it goes to some lame crap like My Pictures or My Music. How do I edit the registry to point to a dir of my choice? I am using win2k too. Thanx

I don't know about editing the registry.. but I know that my IE just downloads to the last place I've downloaded to.... I guess you're looking more for a permanent thing eh?

try right clicking on the shortcut to IE that you use, and go to properties. In the "start in" textbox, enter the directory you want it to download to. It MIGHT work.

Windows usually remembers your last download directory. It works for me that way at least. If everything fails, Getright is what you need.

If you really want to mess with the registry, try regedit.com

Come on guys...Jesus....
When you pull the download it shows a destination...the previous destination...Click on "browse" Pick your file and double click it !
I created a file on the desktop called "downloads" everything goes to there.
I can open the downloads folder later to install or cut and paste the files to whichever folders I want them in (music, pics, documents, PDF,Funny, videos, whatever ).
Same with unzipping files.
Go into explorer (win explorer) Create a new directory...name it 1, the number. When you unzip with winzip or ?? Point it to unzip to 1 .
That is the first file under "c" All of your unzipps are right on top in windows explorer and all of your downloads are tucked in a folder on the desktop.
Just my two cents....or $7.73...😀
