How do I change shortcut icons in kubuntu?

Red Squirrel

I added a folder to a panel so I can access my NFS shares faster and I want to give it a different icon, perhaps something to indicate it's a network drive. However, it seems I can't click on the icon to change it, like I normally can:

I have another folder as a shortcut in the same bar and it lets me, not sure why this one wont. Is there a way to change this?

Try this:

Create New -> Link to Device -> NFS...

You'll at least get the remote folder icon rather than the standard folder icon, and you may also be able to change it.

That sort of works but I'd have to make one for each share.

Also I don't know WTF happened but now all my launchers vanished and I have to redo it all. Linux GUIs are so flaky.

Think I'll just end up making a folder with a bunch of shortcuts in it then putting an icon on the desktop. I really don't feel like redoing all those launchers again.
