I couldn't get it in Win98se either. In win2k they make it so easy. Can anyone tell me? I think it is the same way you change it in Win98se.

But I dont know how to change it in Win98se either.

Display Properties -> Settings Tab -> Advanced Button -> Adapter Tab

The refresh rate can be changed here.

hmm, it doesn't show any options of refresh rates there. are you sure you're not talking about win2k? ive searched all the tabs and gone beyond the tabs advanced and could not find a refresh rate. i hope my winme aint broken. that would suck. oh well, i guess i can live with this darkness. ::horror::

Your video card drivers may not support changing the refresh rate. there should be a setting in your adapter tab under advanced to change the monitor refresh rate. If not, make sure you have the latest drivers.

If windows selected your monitor as "default monitor" this is the cause. Just install the correct .inf for your monitor and the option will appear under the adaptor tab.

Using Matrox G400 RH click on desktop/properties/settings/advanced/monitor settings/adj current display mode
Your mileage may vary.
