how do I change my "Page not found" page in Internet Explorer?

My sister was visiting a site, and it changed the default "Page not Found" page in IE. It goes to this website, and it really bothers me. How do I get my original IE page back?

Open Control Panel, select Internet Options. The setting of the Home Page for IE is the first box under the General tab.

No, not that page (I know how to change my homepage....) . I have some caps up in a minute....

I'm not quite sure whether this will work, but take a look at this screenshot and adjust the registry values to what they are in the picture. (Sorry I'm running a German Windows version, but the registry values are the same anyway.)

Please let me know if it worked or not!

EDIT: The link doesn't work because the server doesn't allow direct file links from other servers, damn it...

You have to copy the link adress (http://www.lunarpages.com/volcano/at/0001.gif) to your browser's adress bar to make it work.

Some websites send a custom page back to the browser with the 404 error. The browser will display this page if the website has it set up this way.

This is a server-side configuration and I don't think you can override it on the client. If it only happens at one website, it's their server, not your client.

Maybe its the option to "show friendly HTML messages"? (or something like that,
I don't have WIndows in front of me)

If this is windows98se or me then most likely what has happend is your winsock2 reg key has become corrupted. Just delete that key in the registry and then go to add remove programs/windows setup, under communications (click it and then details) uncheck dialup networking and click ok and windows removes it (do not restart). Go right back in and re-check it and click ok, windows re-installes it (then restart). There is an issue with 98/se and me and the page cannot be displayed page, this will fix that. Its worth a try and won't hurt you any.
