How do I change multiplier?

I used a conductive pen to conect bridges on three Athlons, all bought at differevt time and I can't seem to change the multiplier up. I can lower it on my A7v motherboard but if I try to go higher it stays at default. I tried changing voltage. Also, I have a Abit KT7-RAID and have tried to change multiplier in BIOS but no luck. Any help appreciated.

i just unlocked my tbird 850 last night with a conductive pen and the first time i tried it out the same thing happened, I could change the multiplier to a lower setting but not higher than the default 8.5 Well i went back and looked closely at the L1 bridges, and one of my connections wasn't "solid" so i redid it and tried again and it worked great i could now increase the multiplier thru the bios. I would say go back and check your connections carefully and try it again.
