<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">

My existing configuration is: A - C - D - E - F - G - H - I - J - K

A= floppy
C= Hard disk 0
JK=hard disk 1
EF=CD rom 1 & 0
DGHI=DISK 2-5, a flash memory reader/writer

I want to make these changes: :

hard disk 1 = DE
CD roms = FG
Disks 2-5 = HIJK (order not important)

Looks like I can make the changes using Win 2000 Disk management prog but I've never used it. If I edit I can only change to Drive letters that have not been assigned.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks, Dan

Have you tried temporarally changing some the the drive letters to letters your not using then switching the other drives to the letters you want to use?

do it in the management...you will have to assign the ones already using a letter to a different one.

I always assign cdrom or dvd to "y" and burner to "z" that way other hdds and partitions are logically named (usually); I always install a three partition hdd. C: is the system (10gb); D: is for programs about 60-70% of what is left, and E: is Files and Projects (I change My Documents to E:) store your music there, pics, work, etc

the disk management is a piece of cake and works great
