Hey Guys,

I need a little help in figuring out my network\router and Windows 10 settings to enable casting my monitor screen to my smart TV through wireless mode.

My current setup is like this:

Now the problem is that i can't configure my repeater router in repeater bridge mode. It's not possible as said by the devs of DD-WRT. Bridge mode is unstable and doens't work on R7000.

I have a Wi-fi Antenna installed on my PC as well which works on 2.4 GHz. If I connect my PC with main router using this I (obviously) see the cast options in Google Chrome. Where i can cast Youtube and Desktop on my Smart TV. However I noticed something strange yesterday. If I disconnect my PC's Wifi link with Main Router, the cast option still works however under "Devices & Printers" my Smart TV is shown offline (greyed out), event though that's not the case but I get it, it's not on the same network anymore via main router. So, my question, how is chrome managing to do that and continue casting smoothly?

I would want to configure it on Windows without having to use Chrome everytime. Direct casting also allows to play stuff from folders etc. It's convenient. Any help would be appreciated. :)

make sure that your PC has a ststic IP on the Wireless Router and configure the Wireless of the TV to connect to the IP of the Computer.

I can assign a static IP to my PC but my TV can't connect directly to my PC or secondary\repeater router due to being out of range. TV can only connect to Main ISP Router, while PC can only connect to Repeater\Secondary Router.

It all depends on what kind of connectivity capability your Sony Smart TV and your Wi-Fi adapter has.

Model and link?

Yeah i get that but 2 Problems with that.
1) Wi-fi Adapter doesn't have the range to directly connect with my Smart TV.
2) Bandwidth is poor anyways. <100 Mbps. While the Routers have greater capacity.

Though I just discovered the thing with Chrome. It's called Chromecast feature which is supported on my TV. That's why my PC Chrome Browser was able to Cast on TV. But how is it doing that? That's what i want to know since my PC network is on the repeater (without bridge to main).

I don't know exactly what it meant if the TV is connected to your PC in this scenario, I don't have smart TV.

However, I know if you enable DLNA server (like your Windows Media Player) on your PC, your smart TV should be able to play the media shared by your PC.
