How about calling the police and reporting it as stolen? Seems to be the logical first step.

IANAL

You'll almost certainly have to get a police report, first. If you've done that, you don't really need to worry about the registration right away - you may very well get your car back.

That's probably something I'd hold onto until I got my car back/heard of its fate.

Cars shit, I need it off insurance and registration. I have another one.
I need the page for canceling registration. Their phone service is blocked (important day today).

did you have coverage for the theft? If so, why would you want to cancel the insurance?

Never heard of cancelling the registration, but just notify them it was stolen.

my father (in the car business for almost 40 years) told me "they always show up on the 29th day. enjoy what's left of your car."

Wouldn't canceling the registration mean you are giving up ownership of the car and leave the thief free to claim it?

No. Registration is simply a license to operate it on public roads. It is completely separate from the title.

Oops, my bad. Here in British Columbia, the registration document is your title of ownership.
