if you want to convert an avi to a dvd format...get a program called winavi.

+1 for WinAVI. Damn I miss that program, now I'm stuck avi -> mpg -> iso -> burn. ~_~

Im a fan of Boilsofts AVI to DVD...

It will give you either a single mpg and/or video_ts folder.... Its auto aspect ratio setting is on the money every time.
