I want to author and burn a DVD in "Windows 7 Ultimate PE (2.0)*". I downloaded portable versions of ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP to my USB 2.0 flash drive. I then re-booted my computer off of the "Windows 7 Ultimate DVD" into the "Recovery Environment"(PE 2.0)*. At the Recovery Options menu I selected "Command Prompt". I then tried to launch both portable versions of ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP with no success. Can these specific applications be used to burn a DVD under "Windows 7 Ultimate PE 2.0*" If so, what must I check to make these work. Thanks.

* Not sure what version of PE "Windows 7 Ultimate" uses but I think its 2.0. Might be 2.1. Probably doesn't even matter for my question.

Pe is its own set of applications, so youd have to find someone that has ported the app to W7PE, then install that into your W7PE build.
Is there really a need to burn DVD's from W7PE?

You need to include all the files that the application will need to run. Portable versions only include the files that the application brings with it during an install. Files that a user might normally have installed like common system dll files are not included and that is a problem for a Pe install.

I have used InfraRecorder before in Pe and it works without adding files so my want to consider that.
