My brothers DVD Writer has packed in burning to CDR's but still burns DVD's. Hence the reason fo a strange request.

So, basically I want to burn a 600mb image file using Nero to a DVD. Any pointers?

Cheers. ;)

[edit]

I should say I have been able to do this previously but cannot remember how I did it!!

Did you select DVD? In some version of NERO, you there was a drop down to select between CDR options and DVD options.

If its just the image you are burning(like bin/cue or iso) then it should be easy to burn by selecting "burn image" menu. If its a compilation (files), then you have to select the dvd from the compilation menu.

Yes I did. Basically there is a cue/Bin fImage I'm trying to burn. Regardless of whether I select DVD or CD when I open the *.cue file it defaults to CD. If there is a DVD in the drive Nero reports that it is the wrong type of Media.

If I select "Burn Image" from the Recorder pull down menu it just defaults to CD and will not let me change it within the Compilation Window... :(

CD image and DVD image are two different things. You should not be able to burn a CD image on DVD, unless you are simply burning the bin and cues on a Data DVD.

You could always burn a data dvd with that image file on it, then use a cd image emulation program to load the image.

A cd image is only for cds. It has all of the necessery formatting preamble for a cd in the image file. That's why it's called an image, because it is exactly what will be on the cd once it is burnt.

To get it on a dvd you'll first have to burn in to a cd (or mount the image as a drive) then copy the data to the dvd.

Thanks for the replys guyz and I understand what your saying. However, I have been able to do this in the past but cannot for the life of me remember how I did it. Perhaps it's one of those things that I dreamt I did....confused... :frown:

Here is what you do.

Use ISOBUSTER or a similar tool to extract the ISO to a folder on your harddrive. Now copy everything out of that folder to the root of the DVD in NERO. As long as there is no tough copy protection it should work. . .

If you want it bootable, you'll have to change that in NERO
