how do i boot WinXP in safe mode?

i THOUGHT it was F10 when it was booting but that didn't work so i tried pushing all the F keys when it was booting and that didn't work (didn't damage it either, thank god 😉)

do you know how?
 
well here is a little trick way to get there, when your PC is booting up and it gets to your splash screen just turn off the power button on your pc then when you reboot it will give you the option for safe mode!
 
watch for a progress bar at the bottom of the screen. press F8 about once every second

Immediately press F8 before the progress bar reaches the right side of the screen
