My webpage is all html based and I just want to make sure all the pages are saved in case they even get erased because I did all the programming by hand directly onto the file service. I don't even use an ftp program.

Would a "Home Directory" backup be sufficient? That is one of the options under cPanel. The other is a full backup which is asking for all this ftp stuff I don't understand..

Generate a full backup, and then tell it to put the backup in your home folder, you don't need to fill out the ftp stuff.
