how do i backup my w2k 'updates'?

my disc is pre sp1 so i obviously had to download and install quite a few updates to keep it up to speed. I want to avoid having to go through that again in the event of reinstalling the OS so how would i go about backing up these updates? Can those updates be found somewhere in the Windows folder?
