How do I backup my 9800np Bios?

I have a 9800np video card. How do i backup my bios in that before i flash it to the pro bios. This card is only compatible with the flashrom flashing utility. Please describe the process. I posted this on rage3d forums but still not acceptable response.

THANKS

I used the atiflash utility for my 9700np.

To a bootable floppy copy the atiflash prog and the xxxx.bin file you want to flash.

Boot with the floppy.

At the a:/ prompt, type atiflash -s 0 orig.bin
This saves your current bios under the name "orig.bin". btw, that "0" is a zero, not alower-case oh.

Then, when you are back to the prompt, type atiflash -f -p 0 xxxx.bin.

Make sure the memory on the card supports the Pro-level speeds.

it does support it, however, i have read in many places that my particular card, the 9800np from DELL does not accept the atiflash utility and it does not work.

Can anyone give me a command for flashrom?

THANKS

This link has a copy of the flashrom prog with two readme files.

One of them lists the syntax for the prog. Not too different then the atiflash one.

May the force be with you.
