how do i arrange my desktop items to the right/bottom?

ive seen some people's desktops like this, and i wish to do it too. i have no clue how though

drag the icons over

And in case you can't move them, or if they "jump" back to their original position after you've moved them, right-click on an empty area of your desktop and make sure "lock icons" is unchecked.
