How do I access specific device on a network?

Please point me in the right direction or an overview so I can picture it.

I have a DSL connection. The DSL modem connects to a switch. On the switch, I have a PC and an IP Camera connected.

Everything is working fine on its own, but I don't know how I would be able to access the IP Camera from outside the network. If I'm on the PC thats connected to the switch, I point my browser to 192.168.0.20 and I can access the IP camera.

I'm able to connect to the PC with a VNC program by setting up port forwarding on the modem, but I'm at a lost on how to connect to the IP camera at 192.168.0.20.

Any help is appreciated!
Thank you

Forward the port(s) that the software uses on the modem/router to 192.168.0.20.

Install the camera software on the remote computer that you are connecting from, and point it to your home IP address (the address given to you by your ISP).

Assuming that the camera's software supports connections over the Internet, this should let you connect to the camera from a remote computer. You won't get full screen, high resolution video from the camera because the connection will be limited by the upload speed of your DSL line, but you should be able to get a few frames now and then from the camera even on a slow DSL line.

The other option is to use the VNC connection you have now and connect to the camera from the VNC server computer on your network. This will also be slow but it will work if the camera software won't connect over the Internet or you can't install the software on the remote computer.
