LogMeIn works great. Use it all day every day. Great thing is it's not platform dependant. As long as you can reach their site with a browser it works great.

CoRD is hands down the best free/open source RDP app for the Mac I've used.

As a system admin, I use it constantly.

That said, if you want something that doesn't require opening ports to allow RDP, then free or not bad cost options are LogMeIn or the one time cost of iTeleport, which has a Windows connector client only but you can connect from your Mac, iPhone or iPad. It works really well.
