At the U of M everyone is given 50 MB of file space on the network storage drives. When I was using XP I had Samba Kerberos installed so that I could encrypt my password to get to my home directory (that's the only way U of M will validate my password). I just listed my network storage space in My Network Places, and when I'd click on it, I would enter my username and password and I'd see my files just as if they were local.
I'm wondering how to do this in Linux. The location of the files is \\ifsviasamba\homes, and I've tried putting that in the address bar in Nautilus (using GNOME), but it doesn't work. How can I access my files using a username and password?
